Hey, I'm Ieva Virse, I write this blog, I am a senior data analyst in marketing and digital data for e-commerce space, I am on the path to grow into architect and team lead roles. Additionally, I help small businesses to find the right MarTech solutions.

About the blog name

I have launched the blog ievirze.eu in May 2025. It has been an idea I have wanted to bring into reality for several years now. IeVirze has been combined from my name and surname, only changing "s" to "z"; however, in my native tongue, Latvian, the word "ievirze" carries the meaning of movement, mental or physical, towards a finished action. It is the perfect summary of my life's philosophy.

Analyst by profession

Over the last 4 years, my day job has been a data analyst, specifically focusing on the marketing and digital data space for e-commerce. My ability to quickly grasp new concepts has led me to a comparably fast growth in seniority while accumulating knowledge for topics like:

• A/B testing - planning, conducting and analysing
• Digital data tool (like Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Amplitude, Plausible and more) implementation, configuration and use
• The heavyweight - compliance with GDPR and e-privacy rules as per EU regulations
• Data visualisation and business insight creation
• Organic traffic improvements by utilising various SEO strategies, embracing the AI strategies and working with tools like Semrush, Ahrefs, Siteimprove, Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, Screaming Frog and others
• Data analytics methodologies and data pipeline creation for cloud storage
• Using SQL and Python to ensure proper ETL pipeline creation and further data reporting using different tools like Looker Studio, Power BI and the good ol' Excel spreadsheets

Where I am headed - solutions architect and leadership role

While I am a data analyst, I already have good foundations for a solutions architect role, and I do aspire to become one in the future. Currently, I am filling the knowledge gaps with formal and informal education, especially with hands-on practice with personal projects (some are available on GitHub). Come along the journey, and we'll learn together!

I have already gained software engineer qualificaion via government-sponsored educational program, "Stars". And this year I am exploring the possibilities of Google Cloud. Especially the free tier options of it for my own learning journey, additionally sterengthening coding and automation skills with Python.

For the leadership side, my focus is on practical skill improvement. I have endevoured in building tools that make a team's workload visible, applying what I've learned from agile/project-management training to how I run analytics work and manage stakeholder expectations, and generally paying attention to the non technical parts of the job.

Side projects

I'm not running a business of my own yet, but I'm building toward it in a few places:

• Virsis Art - legally my husband's, but I do a lot of the behind-the-scenes work in my spare time. We're aiming to make it more formal soon.
• MarTech solutions - currently on personal project level and just occasionally connecting with small business owners for marketing tech solutions consultation as a training field, the prospect is promising, as help is indeed appreciated.
